Root canal specialist · Department of Endodontics

An endodontist is a dentist with a three-year MDS in conservative dentistry and endodontics. The work is the inside of the tooth: the pulp, the nerve and the root canals, and saving teeth that would otherwise be removed.

At AR 32 Signature Smiles, Dr Avinash Bamane or Dr Rashmi Bamane sees you first. When your case needs an MDS endodontist, we arrange one for you, by prior appointment, at our Kharadi clinic.

Questions patients ask

Does a root canal hurt?

The tooth is numbed first, so the treatment itself should feel like a long filling. Most of the pain people remember is the infection before treatment, which the root canal removes.

Why do I need a crown after a root canal?

A treated back tooth is hollow and more brittle. A crown holds it together so it does not split when you bite. Front teeth sometimes manage with a filling; your dentist will tell you which applies.

Is a root canal better than an extraction and implant?

Keeping your own tooth is usually the better and cheaper option when it can be saved. If it cannot, we will say so and talk you through the replacement options.
