Dental Follow-up Visit
A follow-up visit checks that treatment is healing and working the way it should. It is how small problems are caught while they are still small.
What it is
After an extraction, a root canal, gum treatment, a new crown or braces adjustments, your dentist may ask to see you again. The visit checks healing, bite, comfort and hygiene around the new work, and adjusts anything that needs it. Follow-ups are also the right time to ask questions that came up at home.
Who it is for
- After extractions and minor surgery, to check healing and remove stitches
- After root canal treatment, before the crown
- After a new crown, bridge or denture, to fine-tune the bite
- During braces, for regular adjustments
How it is done
- A short history: pain, swelling, comfort while chewing
- Examination of the treated area
- An X-ray only if the healing needs to be confirmed
- Adjustment, cleaning or stitch removal if needed
- Advice on the next step in your plan
Time: Usually a short visit within your reserved slot.
Afterwards
- Keep the next appointment in your plan
- Call if pain or swelling returns before the follow-up date
What to know before you decide
A follow-up cannot replace treatment that was postponed. If a planned step such as a crown after a root canal is delayed, the tooth remains at risk.
Fee and booking
Our current published fee is ₹500 per follow-up visit. The final cost is confirmed after examination, and you receive a written plan with every option priced before anything is started. Paying per visit at standard fees is always allowed; see payment options. All current fees are listed in our online store.
A booked consultation is Rs 500, adjusted against your treatment; an MDS specialist consultation is ₹1,500, by prior appointment at our Kharadi clinic, which is open 8 AM to 11 PM, seven days a week. Book online or call 8484 990 678.
Common questions
Is a follow-up always charged?
Our published follow-up fee is ₹500. Your dentist will tell you in advance when a review is part of the treatment you already paid for.
Can I skip the follow-up if I feel fine?
Feeling fine is good news, but some problems are painless. The follow-up is when we confirm that.
