It is a fair question, and we get asked it often. This page answers it properly: what listing platforms actually are, why we chose to leave them, and — more usefully — how you can verify any dentist in India for yourself.
A clinic’s position on a listing site is not a measure of its clinical quality. Listing platforms are advertising businesses. Where a clinic appears, how prominently, and whether it appears at all depends on that clinic’s commercial arrangement with the platform — not on an assessment of its dentistry.
That cuts both ways. A clinic at the top of the list is not necessarily better. And a clinic that isn’t listed at all has not been judged and found wanting — it may simply have decided not to buy placement.
The things that do tell you something are all checkable, and we have listed them further down this page.
On 28 November 2024, Dr. Avinash Bamane submitted a written complaint to the Dental Council of India concerning dental listing products and the practice of marketing on behalf of dentists.
On 6 January 2025, the Dental Council of India forwarded that complaint to the Registrar of the Maharashtra State Dental Council, under reference No.DCI/PDMS/CG/College/Gen/087/2024-25/2025/9622, requesting action under Section 8 of the Revised Dentists (Code of Ethics) Regulations, 2014, read with Section 41 of the Dentists Act, 1948.
“I am directed to enclose herewith a copy of complaint e-mail dated 28.11.2024 received from Dr. Avinash Bamane against Practo Dental Websites for unethical activity in dentistry. In this regard, you are requested to take necessary action u/s 8 of Revised Dentists (Code of Ethics) Regulations, 2014 read with Section 41 of the Dentists Act, 1948.”
— Dental Council of India, letter dated 06.01.2025, signed by the Secretary Incharge. A copy was endorsed to Dr. Bamane.
I have practised dentistry for eighteen years. My objection to commission-linked patient referral is simple, and it is one of principle rather than arithmetic.
When a third party earns a share of what a patient pays for treatment, that party acquires an interest in the treatment happening — and, logically, in more of it happening. I do not believe that interest belongs anywhere near a clinical decision. The decision about whether you need a root canal should involve you and your dentist, and nobody who gets paid when the answer is yes.
There is a second reason, less lofty but just as real. Any commission a clinic pays has to come from somewhere, and it comes from the fee. I would rather that money stayed in the patient’s pocket, or went into the clinic — into equipment, sterilisation, and time per appointment — than into an advertising budget.
So we left. It cost us visibility, and I was told plainly that no practice could afford to walk away. I would rather answer the question on this page than have that be true.
This is the genuinely useful part, and it applies to every dental clinic in India, not just ours. None of it requires a listing site.
We would rather be judged on verifiable facts than on placement in a paid list. Everything below is published on this site and can be checked independently.
| What | Where to check it |
|---|---|
| NDC registration numbers | Dr. Avinash Bamane — A-18814. Dr. Rashmi Bamane — A-22726. Verify against the National Dental Commission or Maharashtra State Dental Council register. |
| Our full price list | Around 45 procedures with indicative fees, published openly on our Kharadi clinic page. |
| Every consultant, by name | Our full consulting panel, listed by speciality with individual profiles, on our clinical team page. |
| The actual premises | Real photographs and a 360° virtual tour — you can see the clinic before you book. |
| Where we are and when we are open | Office 112–113, 1st Floor, Global Business Hub, Kharadi, Pune 411014. Open 8 AM – 11 PM, seven days. |
| How to reach us | Directly — 8484 990 678 — or through our own booking system. No intermediary, and no commission on your treatment. |
We take appointments only through our own prepaid booking system. A small booking fee confirms the slot and is adjusted against your treatment. That is not a barrier — it is how we keep appointment times honest for the people who do turn up, and it is why we can hold clinic hours until 11 PM.
Nobody outside this clinic takes a share of what you pay us. That was the point of leaving.
