An endodontist is a dental specialist who has completed an additional two to three years of advanced post-graduate training focused exclusively on treating diseases and injuries of the dental pulp and nerve roots. You need one when a tooth has severe internal infection, complex curved root canals, or requires specialized microsurgical retreatment.
