Minor Oral Surgery in Pune
Minor oral surgery covers small procedures in the mouth done under local anaesthetic: for example releasing a tight lip or tongue tie (frenectomy), removing a small cyst, reshaping gum or bone, or treating the tip of a root.
What it is
These procedures are planned after examination and X-rays, and the more involved ones are carried out by an MDS oral and maxillofacial surgeon or periodontist by prior appointment at our Kharadi clinic. Your dentist will explain exactly what is planned for your case, how long healing takes and what the alternatives are, before you decide.
Who it is for
- A tight frenum affecting speech, a gap or the gums
- A small cyst or growth that needs removal and, where advised, testing
- A root tip infection that persists after a root canal
- Gum or bone that needs reshaping before a crown or denture
How it is done
- Examination, X-ray and a written plan
- Local anaesthetic
- The procedure, usually with stitches
- Aftercare instructions and medicines if your surgeon advises them
- A review visit to check healing
Time: Usually one visit, plus a review.
Afterwards
- Cold pack on the first day; soft food
- Do not disturb stitches; rinse gently as advised
- Call us for bleeding, spreading swelling or fever
What to know before you decide
