who is responsible for my overall treatment plan at ar 32

By Dr Avinash Bamane (A-18814) · Last reviewed 23 October 2026 · 454 words

The short answer

Your founding dentist, Dr Avinash or Dr Rashmi Bamane, is responsible for your overall treatment plan. They examine you first, put the plan together, bring in MDS specialists for specific parts and remain your point of contact throughout. Each specialist is responsible for the treatment they carry out, and you decide what goes ahead and when.

When several clinicians are involved, patients sometimes feel that nobody is really in charge. With us the answer is simple: the founding dentist who examined you holds the overall plan.

Who does what

  • Your founding dentist (Dr Avinash or Dr Rashmi Bamane) diagnoses the problem, draws up the plan, decides the order of treatment, chooses which specialist to involve and handles the routine work.
  • The MDS specialist is responsible for the part they perform, such as the root canal, the surgery or the braces, and for advising on anything within their field.
  • You decide what goes ahead, when, and how you pay for it.

What a good plan should tell you

  1. What is wrong, tooth by tooth, in plain language.
  2. The options for each problem, including the cheaper one and doing nothing, with honest pros and cons.
  3. Who will do each step, and whether a specialist is involved.
  4. The order of treatment and roughly how many visits it will take.
  5. The cost of each step, and the payment options.

Your plan is shared as a treatment proposal in our patient portal. You can go through it tooth by tooth, compare the options and payment choices, and submit your decision. You don't have to decide in the chair, and nobody at our clinic is paid on what you spend.

When the plan changes

Plans do change. A specialist may find something an X-ray couldn't show, such as a crack running down a root or an extra canal. When that happens, you should expect the finding to be explained to you, with an updated plan and cost, before further work is done. If a change surprises you, ask your founding dentist to sit down and go through it again. That is part of their job.

If something goes wrong

Pain, swelling or a loose restoration after a specialist visit should be reported early, not after a week of putting up with it. Call 8484 990 678 and ask for your founding dentist; our Kharadi clinic is open until 11 PM, seven days a week. Your founding dentist will decide whether you need to see the specialist again or whether it can be handled straight away.

Questions to ask about responsibility

  • Who do I call between visits if I have a question?
  • Who reviews the specialist's work once it is done?
  • If a crown or filling placed as part of this plan fails, who looks at it first?
  • Where can I see the written plan and what has been completed so far?

Clear answers to these at the start prevent most of the confusion that can creep into longer treatment.

This answers a general question. It is not a diagnosis, and it cannot account for what is actually happening in your mouth. If something hurts, get it looked at — by us or by anyone.

Want this looked at properly?

Kharadi runs late. Reception will tell you honestly whether you need an appointment yet.
