does ar 32 have an orthodontist on the panel

By Dr Aashish Patil (MDS, Orthodontics) · Last reviewed 23 October 2026 · 488 words

The short answer

Yes. Our Orthodontics department treats crooked, crowded and gapped teeth and bite problems with metal, self-ligating, ceramic and lingual braces, and with Invisalign aligners. Orthodontists see patients at Kharadi by prior appointment. Our current published fees for a full braces case start from ₹47,000, confirmed after examination.

Yes. Orthodontists are dentists with a three-year MDS in straightening teeth and correcting how the jaws meet. Orthodontics is one of the nine departments on our specialist panel; see the orthodontics department page.

Who should see an orthodontist

  • Children around age seven. A first check at this age can spot jaw or bite problems early, even if treatment does not start for years.
  • Teenagers with crowding, gaps, protruding front teeth or a deep bite.
  • Adults. There is no upper age limit as long as the gums and bone are healthy. Gum problems need treating first.

Options and our published fees

Our current published fees for a full case, from our online store, are:

  • Traditional metal braces: ₹47,000
  • Damon (self-ligating metal) braces: ₹62,000
  • Ceramic braces: ₹77,000
  • Damon clear braces: ₹87,000
  • Lingual braces (fixed behind the teeth): ₹1,60,000
  • Invisalign: ₹3,50,000
  • Permanent retainer: ₹5,000

The final fee is confirmed after the orthodontist has examined you and reviewed your X-rays. Metal braces are not a second-rate choice: they work just as well, and the more expensive options mainly buy appearance or convenience.

How the first visits run

One of our founders sees you first, checks the teeth and gums, and arranges the orthodontic consultation. The orthodontist then examines your bite and face, and usually asks for X-rays. A full-mouth OPG or a lateral skull X-ray may be advised; we will tell you where it is done and what it costs. Teeth often need cleaning, and decay or gum problems need fixing, before brackets go on, because braces make cleaning harder. Some crowded mouths need space created, sometimes by removing teeth; ask the orthodontist to explain why if this is suggested, and what the alternatives are.

Paying for it

Braces and aligners are specialty items, so the pay-in-advance benefit is capped at 10%. Monthly plans are available only for treatment from ₹60,000, with a 40% advance and ₹100 per instalment. So traditional braces at ₹47,000 would be paid in full or per visit, while Damon braces and above qualify for a plan. Our payment options page explains the rules.

What to expect honestly

Braces usually take well over a year, with regular adjustment visits; aligners need wearing most of the day. After treatment, teeth tend to drift back unless you wear a retainer as advised, often for years. Brushing around brackets takes real effort, and skipping it causes white marks and cavities. For patients living abroad, lingual braces and Invisalign include remote reviews once you are home.

Is it worth it?

For a bite that causes chewing problems, gum damage or teeth wearing against each other, orthodontic treatment can protect your teeth for decades. For a purely cosmetic concern, such as a slightly turned front tooth, it is a personal choice, and sometimes a smaller fix such as reshaping or bonding is a reasonable alternative. Ask the orthodontist to tell you plainly which group your case falls into before you decide.

This answers a general question. It is not a diagnosis, and it cannot account for what is actually happening in your mouth. If something hurts, get it looked at — by us or by anyone.
