does ar 32 have an oral surgeon on the panel

By Dr Chinmay Gokhale (MDS, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery) · Last reviewed 23 October 2026 · 494 words

The short answer

Yes. Our Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department handles wisdom teeth, surgical extractions, bone surgery and implant surgery. Surgeons see patients at Kharadi by prior appointment after one of our founders has examined you. Our current published fee for an MDS specialist consultation is ₹1,500, and surgical fees are confirmed after examination.

Yes. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are dentists who have done a three-year MDS in surgery of the mouth, jaws and face. They are one of the nine departments on our specialist panel. You can see the department on its oral surgery page.

What our oral surgeons handle

  • Wisdom teeth, especially impacted ones (stuck under the gum or bone) and those lying close to the nerve
  • Surgical extractions of broken-down teeth or roots that cannot be removed simply
  • Bone surgery and bone grafts, often to prepare the jaw for an implant
  • Implant placement
  • Minor oral surgery, such as removing small cysts or growths for examination

Not every extraction needs a surgeon. Many simple extractions are done routinely by a general dentist. Your founder consultation is where that decision gets made.

Signs your case may go to a surgeon

  • A wisdom tooth that keeps swelling the gum behind it (pericoronitis), or only half shows through
  • An X-ray showing the roots curving close to the nerve canal in the lower jaw, or near the sinus in the upper jaw
  • A tooth broken off at gum level after decay or a fall
  • A lump, cyst or patch in the mouth that needs a sample taken
  • A planned implant where there is not enough bone

If you are on blood thinners, have diabetes, heart problems or are pregnant, mention it at the very start; it changes how and when surgery is planned.

What it costs

Our current published fees, from our online store, include:

  • MDS specialist consultation: ₹1,500
  • Surgical tooth extraction: ₹4,000
  • Wisdom tooth extraction: from ₹6,000 for an easy case up to ₹18,000 where the tooth lies close to the nerve
  • Minor surgery: ₹12,000; bone graft: ₹15,000 per site

The final cost is confirmed after examination and X-rays. Some cases need an OPG or CBCT scan; if so, we will tell you where it is done and what it costs. For surgery, the pay-in-advance benefit is capped at 10%.

Booking and preparing

  • Book surgeon appointments at least three days in advance. A ₹2,000 advance reserves the operatory and the specialist for you.
  • Your blood sugar, blood pressure and thyroid should be under control. Tell us about every medicine you take, especially blood thinners.
  • Eat a proper meal about an hour before, avoid smoking, alcohol, tobacco and mishri for 48 hours before, and bring a companion. Don't ride or drive yourself home.
  • Afterwards, bite on the gauze for 45 minutes, don't spit, rinse or use a straw for the first 24 hours, and use an ice pack on and off. Sutures are usually reviewed after about 8 days. Call us at once for heavy bleeding or severe pain.

When a hospital is the right place

A badly broken jaw after a two-wheeler accident, or a swelling spreading towards the eye or neck with difficulty swallowing or breathing, needs a hospital emergency department straight away, not a clinic appointment. Read our emergency page for what to do meanwhile.

This answers a general question. It is not a diagnosis, and it cannot account for what is actually happening in your mouth. If something hurts, get it looked at — by us or by anyone.

Want this looked at properly?

Kharadi runs late. Reception will tell you honestly whether you need an appointment yet.
