how do i verify an ar 32 dentist qualification

By Dr Rashmi Bamane (A-22726) · Last reviewed 23 October 2026 · 505 words

The short answer

Check three things: the dentist's degree (BDS, plus MDS for a specialist), their State Dental Council registration number, and whether their specialty fits your treatment. Our founders' numbers are published: Dr Avinash Bamane A-18814 and Dr Rashmi Bamane A-22726, Maharashtra State Dental Council. For any panel specialist, ask us for their registration number before treatment begins.

It is sensible to check, and no good clinic should mind you asking. In India anyone can put up a board that says "dental clinic", so the paperwork behind the person holding the drill is worth a few minutes of your time, especially before surgery, implants or braces, where you are committing serious money and months of treatment.

The three things to confirm

  1. The degree. Every dentist needs a BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery). A specialist, such as an orthodontist for braces or an oral surgeon for impacted wisdom teeth, should also hold an MDS (Master of Dental Surgery) in that exact field. An MDS in one branch does not make someone a specialist in another.
  2. The registration. Every dentist practising in India must be registered with a State Dental Council. The registration number is what lets you look someone up on the official register; a degree certificate on the wall does not do that on its own.
  3. The fit. Ask which procedures the dentist does regularly. A well-qualified dentist doing something outside their usual work is a different proposition from a specialist who does it every week.

Our founders' details

We print these openly:

  • Dr Avinash Bamane: BDS, Maharashtra State Dental Council registration A-18814.
  • Dr Rashmi Bamane: BDS, registration A-22726.

You can check these on the Maharashtra State Dental Council register. We explain why we put this kind of information in front of patients on our page about why we left listing platforms.

Our MDS panel specialists

We don't print registration numbers for individual panel doctors in these answers. Instead, ask us for your specialist's registration number before treatment starts, and we will give it to you. Since one of the founders always sees you first and then brings in the specialist, the simplest moment to ask is when the referral is being explained to you. Our panel is organised into nine departments, which you can browse on the MDS departments page.

What registration does and doesn't tell you

Registration confirms that a person is legally entitled to practise dentistry. It does not grade skill, and it does not tell you whether someone has done fifty cases like yours or two. So after checking the paperwork, it is still worth asking plain questions:

  • Who exactly will do each stage of my treatment?
  • Is any part being done by someone in training? (We do not staff interns, but it is a good question anywhere.)
  • What are the alternatives, including doing less or doing nothing for now?
  • What happens if it doesn't work, and what would that cost?

Warning signs anywhere

Be cautious if a clinic will not tell you who is treating you, gets uncomfortable when you ask for a registration number, or pushes you to sign up for a large plan on the same day before you have had time to think. A dentist who is properly qualified loses nothing by showing you. If you'd like to meet the people first, the team page is a good place to start.

This answers a general question. It is not a diagnosis, and it cannot account for what is actually happening in your mouth. If something hurts, get it looked at — by us or by anyone.

Want this looked at properly?

Kharadi runs late. Reception will tell you honestly whether you need an appointment yet.
