Prosthodontists are the master architects of dental restoration. While general dentists manage everyday care, fillings, and basic cleanings, a Prosthodontist is an MDS postgraduate specialist who spends 3 additional years focusing entirely on complex restorations, missing teeth replacements, implant crowns, and rebuilding broken bites or collapsed vertical face dimensions.
A root canal removes the internal blood and nerve supply of the tooth, which makes it brittle over time. Without a protective crown to encase and support the tooth, the forces of chewing can cause the remaining structure to fracture or split. Placing a custom crown protects the tooth from cracking and seals the area from bacteria leaking inside.
Initial adaptation generally takes 2 to 4 weeks. Your brain and facial muscles need time to learn how to keep the new denture in place while chewing and speaking. Minor sore spots are completely normal during the first week, and our specialists provide fine-tuning adjustments at follow-up visits to ensure a comfortable fit.
