Periodontitis advanced gum disease and bone loss clinical representation

Symptom Breakdown

What you feel Persistent bad breath (halitosis), swollen and severely receding gums, and pain while chewing. You may notice your teeth feeling loose, shifting out of alignment (creating new gaps), or see pus developing between the teeth and gums.
Why it happens Untreated gingivitis progresses into periodontitis. Plaque hardens into calculus (tartar) deep below the gum line. The aggressive bacteria release toxins that cause your immune system to overreact, breaking down the actual jawbone and periodontal ligaments holding your teeth in place.
Clinical Advice
  • Brushing and flossing at home is no longer enough. The bacteria live in deep pockets (4mm to 8mm+) that bristles cannot reach.
  • Do not ignore loose teeth; periodontitis is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults.
  • Systemic health links: Advanced gum disease severely impacts diabetes control and cardiovascular health.
Treatment Note Deep scaling and root planing (SRP), localized antibiotic placement, flap surgery for pocket reduction, or bone and tissue grafting to regenerate lost structural support.

Halt Bone Loss and Save Your Teeth

Once the jawbone is destroyed by periodontitis, it does not grow back naturally. However, by intervening with advanced periodontal therapies, we can clean out the deep bacterial infection, shrink the inflamed gum pockets, and stabilize your teeth for a lifetime. If you notice teeth shifting or severe recession, immediate action is required. Connect with our specialized periodontal panel in Kharadi.
