Symptom Breakdown

What you see Your teeth have distinct, chalky white patches, opaque streaks, or in more severe cases, dark brown mottling and pitted enamel surfaces. These teeth are usually completely painless and highly resistant to decay, but the stubborn stains cannot be removed by brushing.
Why it happens Fluorosis is a cosmetic condition that occurs long before the teeth ever enter the mouth. It is caused by consuming excessive amounts of systemic fluoride (usually from naturally high-fluoride well water or swallowing toothpaste) during early childhood. This excess fluoride alters the way the enamel minerals crystallize as the tooth develops inside the jawbone.
Clinical Advice
  • Do not rely on standard teeth whitening strips. Over-the-counter bleaches will actually whiten the healthy enamel *around* the fluorosis spots, making the bright white lesions stand out even more severely.
  • Because the stain is integrated directly into the crystal structure of the tooth, surface polishing by a hygienist will not remove it.
Treatment Note Enamel micro-abrasion to gently polish away the top layer, advanced Resin Infiltration (ICON therapy) to blend the color from within, or ultra-thin porcelain veneers for severe pitting.

Blend the Enamel, Unify Your Smile

Fluorosis presents a unique cosmetic challenge because the teeth are functionally healthy but aesthetically uneven. You do not have to drill away perfectly good teeth to fix this. For mild white spots, our cosmetic team uses state-of-the-art Resin Infiltration (ICON therapy), which painlessly penetrates the porous white lesions and optically blends them with the healthy enamel—no drilling required. For moderate to severe brown mottling or pitting, we utilize custom-layered composite bonding or porcelain veneers to create a flawless, unified smile. Connect with our aesthetic panel in Kharadi.
