It is in our hands what to choose...

Cost is too much

Even Hopspitals Understood it...

Conclusion - Most of our decisions in life are are Value driven and not cost driven.... it depends on severity of problems or situation and choices or will power of person...

definitely Economics is vital but not everything...

Then What's the problem with dentist and dental patients ?
  • Dentistry is still an upcoming branch of medical science in India, it needs more time to settle and Upgrade.

  • most of dental Equipments are imported from all around world and mangement or working cost are higher due to dental lab expenses and Consultant doctors fees.

  • there is no insurance / mediclaim / reimbursement policy available in India till date. ( some companies cover 5 to 15 K depending on group insurance taken by company - which accepts any medical / hospital bills.

  • People are not yet educated regarding many dental procedures, treatment options, so half knowledge is always dangerous.

  • Most of dental procedures are elective ( means one can postpone them in early phases - at Will. ) so dental patients try to find home remedies to postpone pain till last moment.

  • practically most dentist settle in urban areas due to less awareness, less demand in rural areas and lack of govt job availability, so setting up private dental clinic is only choice left with dental doctors.

All this leads to Competition...

Options Left now...

Fight.

Listen, Give time to patients, Educate them, explore their needs,

Buy good Equipments, Invest in large Setup, have good MDS Panel for added advantage,

Take strict precautions during pandemic,

see as less patients as possible, Use best dental materials,

deal with top dental lab in town.

Flight.

Solve patients chief complaint, reduce their dental pain, do good work, and you can still win.

but to win a case give discounts and reduce charges up to a certain level that dentistry is not profitable anymore and is becoming a survival struggle for many dentist.

so last call is not to Invest in materials, choose simple affordable dental lab, try settling basic set up, no for MDS consultants, which again works against dentistry.

Out of 100 dentist 90 % will choose Flight mode and complain about " My patients are not paying for good services... they can't afford it."

Only 10 % will dare to fight with old outdated dental system and try to create Value for their patients."

Cost is too much

Perception matters...
